Register as an Intellectual Property (IP) rights owner

This service is for IP rights holders to request approval of their registration certificates from DET, via the IP Gateway portal. It allows owners to enforce their IP rights protection.

Required documents

  • For owners: a valid trademark or commercial agency registration certificate
  • Additional for legal representatives or agents: valid legal power of attorney and copy of the trade licence

Prerequisites

This service is available to those who:

  • have a valid trademark/agency registration certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy (MOE) 
  • have an IP Gateway account

Steps

  1. Login to the IP Gateway portal and choose the Brand or Agency button on the dashboard
  2. Select 'Create New' to start a file; fill in required fields, attach your registration certificate and click save
  3. The IP department will review your file; it can either be approved or rejected
  4. If your certificate is approved, you can now file infringement cases on your trademark or agency
  5. If there is no case to pursue, the certificate remains active; officials conduct routine inspections and will notify you if violations are found against your IP rights
